New gen AI features — and a new, no-cost option — are coming to Vids

Google is bringing more generative AI tools to Google Vids with an all-new experience that lets you turn images into short videos, powered by Veo 3. Paid Google Workspace customers, as well as Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers, will get access to this new feature (plus others like AI avatars and automatic transcript trim). And for the first time, the basic Vids editor will be available to consumers at no cost.

Gmail's protections are strong and effective, and claims of a major Gmail security warning are false

Several inaccurate claims surfaced recently that incorrectly stated that Google issued a broad warning to all Gmail users about a major Gmail security issue. This is entirely false. While it’s always the case that phishers are looking for ways to infiltrate inboxes, Google’s protections continue to block more than 99.9% of phishing and malware attempts from reaching users.

Google AI Pro for Education subscription now available to Workspace for Education customers

Google is consolidating Gemini Education and Gemini Education Premium into a single add-on subscription, Google AI Pro for Education. This includes all the advanced features previously found in Gemini Education Premium. Google AI Pro for Education provides access to Gemini in Workspace apps, including AI-powered note taking and summaries in Meet, expanded access to premium models and features in Gemini for Education and NotebookLM, and more proactive security with AI-enhanced data loss prevention.
