Block ransomware proliferation and easily restore files with AI in Google Drive

 

Ransomware remains one of the most damaging cyber threats facing organizations today. While native Workspace documents are not impacted by ransomware and ChromeOS has never had a ransomware attack, ransomware is a persistent threat for other file formats and desktop operating systems. That’s why Google is enhancing Google Drive for desktop with AI-powered ransomware detection to automatically stop file syncing and allow users to easily restore files with a few click.

Configure up to 20 conditional notifications per Google Sheet 

 

Last year, Google introduced conditional notifications in Google Sheets, which allow users to create custom rules in spreadsheets that send email notifications when certain criteria are met. Now, Google is expanding rule limits for conditional notifications from 10 to 20 rules per spreadsheet, allowing users to take advantage of the feature more frequently and for a wider range of use cases.

Changes to membership roles in Google Chat spaces to enable more flexible permissions

 

Google is introducing an owner role in Chat spaces in addition to managers and members. By increasing the number of roles, it will be easier to share the tasks associated with managing spaces with the right colleagues. For example, managers will be able to help owners with some space administration tasks, while owners will retain full control over the space.
