2025 Starts with a January Surprise

Our newsletter is late this month because so much has changed since I began assembling the information. My plan was to focus on building your 2025 IT Checklist as a roadmap for IT spending and investment this year, and to discuss increasing security demands and how Pen Testing can help.

Just before we were about to send this out, however, Google announced the addition of Gemini AI to all Google Workspace subscriptions. The move eliminates the Gemini AI for Google Workspace add-on products costing up to $30 per user per month.

While the Gemini AI will be included in Google Workspace as part of the "core services" based on your subscription level, the new features come with a price increase of about 17%, ranging from $1 to $5 per user per month. 

While I still want to highlight our Pen Test Primer, published in December, your focus should be on the time-sensitive aspects of the Google Workspace changes (see the blog post).
