Balance

Good day,

Security and AI.  Both are, separately and jointly, critical to the success of your business.  Each has benefits and drawbacks.

Security protects your business, you, your team, your vendors, and your customers from becoming victims of a widening array of cyberattacks and crimes. Security is a necessary component of regulatory and industry compliance. At the same time, security requires time, effort, and money to be effective and, in some cases, creates new inconveniences in your daily routines.

AI, particularly generative AI (Gen AI), is showing the potential to accelerate, simplify, and automate tasks. The right AI tools can help us locate, sort, prioritize, and assess information, making us more efficient and effective in our day to day roles.  At the same time, Gen AI tools can hallucinate, present incorrect information as fact, and create significant security, privacy, and confidentiality risks.

The key, for both Security and AI, is balance. Bring in the technologies and services you want and need, but without sacrificing security and usability. Create better user experiences to improve productivity, but without overspending.

This month, across the all of the resources we are sharing, we discuss the balances we need to consider while presenting new ideas, information, and methods that can help us do more and do better.
