Securely Ending 2024; Looking to 2025.
Good day,
Are we too repetitive? Looking at the topics and focus of our newsletter, blog, and events, we have covered a range of topics. However, some topics — especially "security" — tend to dominate our conversations. The challenge is that "security" has become an overused buzzword that easily blends into the background noise of IT marketing.
For us, security is a business issue and not just a technical issue.
A secure business is one that is reasonably protected from business disruption. This means your business is able to continue running effectively in the face of unexpected events whether these events are within your control or not. In a very real sense, a secure business is a resilient business.
With this description, security is just preventing and protecting against cyber attacks. Security includes data loss prevention, identity and access management, managing internal and external permissions to applications and data, and privileged access management. Security also includes your ability to recover lost or damaged systems or data, your ability to respond -- at a business level -- to attempted or successful cyber attacks, and your ability to remain operational in the face of disruption.
Beyond the technology, your security depends on policies, procedures, and team education.
As we head into 2025, the issue of security -- of business resilience -- will remain in the forefront.
At the same time, we will expand our efforts to help you gain more value from your current IT and cloud services, and to evaluate new services that can enable your business and empower your team.
We look forward to a successful 2025. Thank you for being part of our community,
Allen Falcon, CEO
