AppSheet Enterprise Plus users can now add the new AI Task powered by Gemini, directly into their existing AppSheet automations. The AI Task can perform the following functions: Extract, Extract Rows, Categorize, and Summarize. This means it can enable AppSheet to automatically extract key information from uploaded photos, parse complex PDFs, and categorize, route, and summarize incoming requests based on their content.

Educators can now quickly adapt existing rubrics from Drive or local files for Google Classroom assignments with Gemini's assistance. From the Rubric menu in the assignment creation screen, you can select “Convert from file” to instantly turn existing rubrics from various files and use them in Classroom, without the need to enter the information manually.
Your organization's logo will now appear in the Gemini app
Similar to other Google Workspace service pages, your organization’s logo will now appear next to a user’s profile picture in the Gemini app when they are using their business or education account. Logos can help users orient themselves when using a work or school account and help differentiate their experience in the Gemini app compared to use with a personal account.
Protecting Gmail users from XS-Search with Cross-Origin Opener Policy (COOP)
Gmail is enhancing user security by enabling the Cross-Origin Opener Policy (COOP). As a result, developers of websites and browser extensions opening or manipulating the Gmail page may have to update their code to ensure continued functionality when enforcement begins on January 20, 2026. There is no action needed from Workspace admins or end users.
