Google Workspace Wednesday

Issue #177 / 04-NOV-26

Edit entire presentations with Gemini in Google Slides

You can now use Gemini in Google Slides to edit multiple slides or an entire presentation at once. With a single prompt in the Slides side panel, you can update content throughout a deck, refresh visual styles in bulk, or match the style of another presentation.

Educators can now add Guided Learning to assignments in Google Classroom to help students get extra support

A new Google Classroom integration allows educators to add Gemini Guided Learning directly to student assignments. Guided Learning offers step-by-step assistance to help students solve problems and understand concepts independently, and teachers can attach specific curriculum materials to keep the AI focused on current lessons.

Create, preview, and edit files directly in the Gemini app

Google has updated the Gemini app to allow users to create, preview, and edit files directly within the chat interface. You can generate and refine slide decks, spreadsheets, documents, and code. The update includes a full-screen view for manual typing and AI-assisted text adjustments. Once completed, you can seamlessly download your files or export them directly to Google Workspace apps.

Fill with Gemini now provides cell-level citations for web sources and supports larger requests

Google is making it easier to verify your AI-generated data and scale your workflows in Google Sheets. When you use the AI function to generate cell values, Gemini will now provide the exact web sources referenced directly within each individual cell. This gives you full visibility to audit, verify, and cross-reference outputs for greater trust and accuracy.

Display Custom Policy in the Green Room before Google Meet Calls

To help ensure end users at your organization are familiar with your organization’s policies for handling meeting artifacts like recordings, transcriptions and notes by Gemini, Google is introducing the ability to set custom policy text from the admin console that is displayed prior to users joining Google Meet calls.
