NotebookLM and the Gemini app are now Core Services with enterprise-grade data protection for all education customers
Last year, Google launched enterprise-grade data protection in the Gemini app for Education Standard and Education Plus customers. As a core service with enterprise-grade data protection, the Gemini app is covered under the Google Workspace for Education terms of service and receives the same level of technical support as other core services in Workspace. Now, Google is expanding these protections to help more education institutions provide AI tools to their communities with the confidence that their data is private, safe and secure.
Educators can now upload content to Read Along in Google Classroom
In addition to the recent Read Along in Google Classroom feature that provides educators with more visibility into student performance, Google is giving them the ability to upload their own content into Read Along as part of the assignment creation process. Whether there’s a desire to include location-specific content that's rich in local history and culture or provide materials aligned with geo-specific curriculum, this highly-requested feature expands Read Along’s current library by empowering educators to add content that addresses learners' needs.
More options for exporting your Google Workspace data are available in open beta
In 2022, Microsoft introduced the ability for admins to export user generated content by organizational unit or group. Prior to that update, data export was limited to a customer’s full set of user generated content. With this update, customers have more flexibility and specificity over the data they export, which is important as business and compliance needs evolve.
