Regular expressions, or ‘regex,’ are sequences of characters that define search patterns, commonly used for string searching and text parsing. They are incredibly versatile and are often used to check if a string contains a certain pattern, extract substrings that match the pattern, or replace substrings that match the pattern. Microsoft is introducing 3 new regex functions to Excel. REGEXTEST checks if any part of supplied text matches a regex pattern, REGEXEXTRACT extracts one or more parts of supplied text that match a regex pattern, and REGEXREPLACE searches for a regex pattern within supplied text and replaces it with different text.
Since its release, Copilot in Forms has efficiently generated well-designed forms for many customers. Over the past few months, Microsoft enhanced Copilot with additional capabilities to assist you not only when creating a form, but also in fine-tuning forms afterward. With the “Continue Writing" feature, Copilot helps you add new questions to an existing form. And with the “Rewrite” feature, Copilot can help you rewrite questions, as well as the form title and description.
New models added to the Phi-3 family, available on Microsoft Azure
Microsoft is adding new models to the Phi-3 family of small, open models. It is introducing Phi-3-vision, a multimodal model that brings together language and vision capabilities. Phi-3-small and Phi-3-medium, announced earlier, are now available on Microsoft Azure, empowering developers with models for generative AI applications that require strong reasoning, limited compute, and latency bound scenarios. Lastly, previously available Phi-3-mini, as well as Phi-3-medium, are now also available through Azure AI’s models as a service offering, allowing users to get started quickly and easily.
