New Translation Functions in Excel: TRANSLATE and DETECTLANGUAGE
Excel has two new functions designed to simplify and automate translations directly within your spreadsheet. The TRANSLATE function takes text you provide and translates it from one language to another using Microsoft Translation Services. Over 100 languages are currently supported. DETECTLANGAUGE detects the language of text you provide using the Microsoft Translation Services and returns the language code.
Announcing TRIMRANGE and accompanying trim references
Microsoft is introducing a new function and a set of supporting references in Excel. The TRIMRANGE function removes empty rows from the edges of a range. This can be particularly useful when writing dynamic array formulas or optimizing lambda functions for performance. And Trim References (‘Trim Refs’) offer a more succinct way to call common variances of TRIMRANGE. They are a modifier of the iconic colon range operator A1:E5. By prefixing or suffixing the colon with a period, you can request to trim blanks from the start, end or both.
Automatically summarize Word documents with Copilot
An exciting new feature in Word helps you quickly grasp the essence of a document right after opening it. Microsoft Copilot can provide an automatic summary at the top of your Word documents. Synthesizing the most important information into a digestible format, the Copilot summary allows you to quickly comprehend key points and ideas without having to read through the entire document.
Improved user experience for Dictate in new Outlook for Windows and Outlook for the web
The Dictate feature in Outlook removes the need to type and harnesses the power of AI with voice commands that help you effortlessly get your message across.
